JUNIOR KEEPER

£60 per child (7-16 years)

 

Find out exactly what it’s like to look after wild animals with our junior zookeeper experiences. Aimed at children with a keen interest in becoming a zookeeper or working with animals later in life. Participants will go behind the scenes for an introduction to the world of the zookeeper and will learn how we make sure that our animals are well fed, interested and cared for.

During the session, the junior zookeepers will distribute a feed and meet an animal. Other skills learned include how to make an animal’s life more exciting, tool use, animal feed preparation and basic health and safety.

 

How long is the experience?


Timings: 10:30am - 12:30pm

 

Do adults stay for the experience?


Parents/adults do not stay with the children during the experience. The children are dropped off at the education centre and parents will be told a rough plan for the session. This will include places they can meet up with the group at estimated times to watch the children.

 

Do they get free entry to the park?


Only the children taking part in the experience gets free entry to the park.

 

What should they wear?


Children must wear suitable outdoor waterproof shoes such as wellies or walking boots. An email will be sent out the week of the experience if wellies are a must due to going in the wetlands.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing that you don't mind getting messy and bring a water bottle.
